Miles working in his Nenana Alaska shop
You can read this as pictures load if you wish. In general, my art is hand done here in the village of Nenana Alaska. Originally I specialized in only Alaska materials and Alaska themes. After 30 years I simply wanted to branch out and use interesting materials from around the world that I see at the big shows I go to. I have a separate page of only Alaska items (go to my directory). This page is the newest and latest that I have not had tome to sort yet. My regular customers can come here and check to see what is new that might interest them. These are the items most likely to still be in stock and not sold yet. This also shows the latest direction I am going. I have been doing custom casting and and adapting this art for to other things I have done in the past --like custom knife guards- and a new way to set off gem stones. This is work no one else i know of is doing and I have invented equipment and discovered techniques - the results golf which you can see below. There will not always be prices. I do not want you to simply order off this page. The custom item may have already sold. You need to email me and tell me what interests you and if possible copy and paste the picture so I know what you are talking about. My site has over a thousand pictures and I work in spurts but it is common for me to create 100 new items in a week and I may not have a clue what you are talking about (smile) I'm getting older and forgetful. I create something and as soon as I make it, then it is the past -- and I focus on the next piece. If you see something interesting remember I can do special orders - work with your materials fix or restore and I take digital pictures and can email you what I have -special orders may cost 10% more then selling you something in stock but may have more meaning for you. Shipping - terms and all that are found in my directory . If you like a design but not the material view my raw materials page to see what I usually work with that my interest you.
I like working with amber so have a lot on hand. It is light in weight so allows me to make larger necklaces that are easy to wear. Many have bugs in them. I custom cast caps for them. From $35 to $75
Lynx and wolf claw necklaces --custom cast caps. This is a new direction I am going- offering a standard design I can make a lot of caps of and have them fit standard claws so can keep the costs down. I have fewer wolf claws --prices best on lynx. $15- $35
Above--more custom capped lynx claws - a standard flower cap more for the women- any metal can have a gem set in the center or not and doing matching earrings
left--opal is another of my favorite materials to work with. One reason is it is a material that has to be worked slow and careful or it cracks and I learned the patience working with hand tools when I had no electricity in the wilderness. These hand done earrings are popular, but 'spendy' starting at $75.
Right--more opal work. I'm in an opal phase right now so now is a good time to contact me if you want opal--while I'm in the mood. I just got some new rock working equipment and discovered some new ways to do this. All these pieces of opal are internally pinned Gold inlay. Don't even ask the price (smile) Nobody else is or even can do this to my knowledge. I have several birds done --inquire
Left- fossil cave bear teeth. This is another material I specialize in and have maybe the largest selection of cave bear teeth in the US. I found a couple myself but a very rare item so have a connection in Siberia Russia (Alaska is only 50 miles away you know) Anyhow these are necklaces but can make a knife or? Inquire
Above--hair stick. This is a special bone in the leg of a moose traditionally used by local Athabaskan Natives for hair sticks . This one has a cast copper Indian face. $65
Right stone necklace. New moose top design-now being used on the tops of a lot of necklaces inquire

Going Wild
This is the back cover of my book.
I just got the 5th printing in and often run out but have some on hand now. This is a survival type adventure biography but also has how to information and things about my art and raw materials - how I got started and is a good compliment to the art. if you like my art and have an interest in nature homestead dog mushing - a lifestyle on the wild this is a good read!
Right- a new idea first being used here. These are porcupine claws but look much like hawk or eagle (which would not be legal to sell) The eagle had cap is cast of local Nenana metals -old ship propellers, 1916 copper from abandoned buildings etc. with a mould I am ale to make copies and offer items for less money. These are $25 each
Something new for me a new direction. It is becoming more illegal and at least difficult to sell 'real' animal parts. I am using replica items made from moulds of the real thing and capping them and treating them like real as the only legal option in some cases. This is supposed to be more environmentally kind. My personal opinion is the plastics industry is one of the worse there is, but it eases some people's minds so I adapt to changing time. I think they look good. I know what the real thing looks like and these are 'perfect' no one can tell the difference. For a lot less money. Above lion tooth and Bald eagle with my custom cast caps
below replica bear teeth with various custom caps in the $45 price range.

Left- getting into capping more stones lately left a few ideas
Right I think cool idea just an ordinary Nenana River rock natural - capped with a duck cast from local antique barge propeller

simulated bear claws. There is no legal way to offer you real ones. These are such a good copy no one can tell. They are 'perfect' Various caps offered, here the buffalo and bear.
Replica fossil teeth claws
Right
Right--these are dinosaur claws (a raptor) cast from real and capped with various themes to be worn as pendants. This is a new direction I am going. The legal and moral aspect of using some real items has me turning to cast simulated- replica. This keeps the cost way down and makes my situation less stressful with the law. I know, 'plastic' is not fun ,, but look at the alternatives, 20 years in prison for illegal items or thousands in cost for the real and many pay me with plastic and I'd sure like real gold instead, do I get it? You show me plastic I show you plastic. (smile) It's good copies
Below are replica bear teeth with various choice caps for pendants $35
Left-- custom cast setting for exceptional opal pendant
