Miles of Alaska
Alaskan Raw Materials
Everything on this page is an Alaskan raw material. to go to my main raw materials page click below
I have both walrus and mammoth ivory. Have less walrus as I am in the interior of Alaska and do not have great northern Eskimo connections. I find much of the mammoth ivory myself so being at the source   means nice price. Some of the more exotic ivory needs I can help with as I have connections with big dealers even if I do not have it in stock. I have the most materials  on hand for artists scrim people necklace makers  etc. Knife makers (the blue scales they seem to all want) well usually when I get it is sold to my regular customers within hours. If you want a lot I can get it from Russia (only 50 miles from Alaska)
Alaska does not have a huge selection of rocks but we have jade gold agate garnets and a few things I don't know even what they are.
Left Nowitna River agate. Found only in Alaska this is a carenilan with mottled patterns (instead of the traditionally known concentric patterns of Brazilian agate) I can sell it in the rough or sliced and polished
My book is a wilderness survival biography but also has a lot of 'how to' knowledge on tanning gathering identifying material how my art is done etc. It is a good book to compliment my art or to connect to the art and raw materials I sell. Anyone who likes the wilderness my art and the materials I use should enjoy this. After being raised middle class city and raise don Walt Disney I move to the Alaska wilderness to live my dream of being a mountain man I get dropped off with no arrangements to get picked up and walk out almost a year later then build a houseboat to live on
Going Wild
Wolf bone beads silver ends $10 a set
Alaska wolf bones are naturally hollow. Metal ends help stop beads from ever cracking, as well as being decorative.

Stormbound Trapper A Cassette tape
This is a recorded story by Miles 1.5 hours long talking about winter in Alaska in the wilds. There are sound effects from the wild as I talk about 70 below 0 trapping running sled dogs, hunting moose getting lost and creating the mood of what it is like to be in the wild. $7

$7 a polished slice Nowitna River agate
 mammoth ivory beads
Right Alaska Kobuk jade an ounce to 25 pound pieces inquire
Above fossil walrus ivory artifacts tusks pieces for crafts. About $200 a pound

Caribou antler
Has small tine that can act as guard. Fits hand well for hidden tang style blade. Takes a nice polish. Light strong material that does not need much care. Good for a functional knife $25
7 inches long, 1.5 across and 5 ounces
Knife handle hidden tang- fossil bison bone 40,000 years old Weighs 4.5 ounces. Is 5 inches x 1.5 across and ½ narrowest width. Slighlty smaller then above #1 set less colors.Takes a high polish fits well in the hand as it is. No cracks - holds up well as a knife material. Somewhat soft center. Makes it good for cutting out for blade tang insertion but requires glue run in the center and an end cap and guard as the open pore ends do not look good. Rare exotic not terribly spendy makes good choice for those on a budget but desiring the unique. R fbibon2 311 Refer to the code when inquiring. $50
Teeth sets for earrings. Fossil fangs from maybe large fox or small coyote (being so old it is hard to know for sure) Already drilled to accept either bail for necklace or ear wires for earrings sold in matched sets of 2. If ordering more than a couple of sets inquire if I have enough to fill the order. Limited availability $10 a set
Front-------------------back
Fossil walrus jaw bone. Hard dense bone takes a nice polish carves well good for carving. Picture below is polished I used for knife stand. When ancient walrus hunters killed a walrus they had to break this bone out of the skull to get the tusks out. So these same bones over and over were broken out and tossed aside, to fossilize and be found later on the beaches of Savoonga Alaska. $10 each
Beaver teeth $6 each

Wolverine taxidermy mount. 3 ft long x 15 inches tall x 9 inches wide. Professional well done mount. #1 condition. Usually if you supply the wolverine the mount work is worth $1,500. I got a deal from a local fur dealer when I bought a whole lot of furs and scraps from. Asking $800. Shipping in the USA guessing $40.

Does not weigh much - foam used as body. There are two threaded rods from two of the feet about a foot long with wingnuts so this mounted wolverine can be set on a background of your choice. Usually a tree branch, fake rock etc.
